The Gîte

Wisteria, roses,
and arched double doors.

Walk through a private patio surrounded by roses and honeysuckle, look up at this wisteria-covered orangerie nestled beside the French gardens, and step through the arched double doors into one of the most romantic spaces in the Charente. A beautifully appointed open plan interior awaits - an 18th-century dining table, a fully equipped kitchen, and a living room that opens onto the gardens.

Upstairs, a vaulted ceiling with antique oak beams frames a French bed dressed in finely pressed cotton - the kind of room that makes it impossible to leave before noon.

Living Spaces

The Ground Floor

Enter through the arched double doors into an open plan space: a beautiful fully equipped kitchen, an 18th-century dining table, and a comfortable living room with high-speed Wi-Fi and TV with French and English channels. A powder room completes the ground floor.

The roses and honeysuckle on the patio just beyond the doors, and the wisteria above - it is a space that makes the boundary between inside and outside feel entirely optional.

The Bedrooms

The Mezzanine Bedroom

Walk upstairs and you are greeted by a vaulted ceiling with antique oak beams, a French bed (150cm × 200cm) dressed in finely pressed cotton sheets, and a private dressing area with an armoire and set of drawers. Two ceiling fans keep the room comfortable through the warmest Charente evenings.

A shower room and a separate toilet room complete the upper floor - a private, self-contained retreat for two.
